“I was so emberassed”

Added July 31st, 2010 by admin

Selena chatted with Tiger Beat about her embarrassing scene in Ramona & Beezus where she had to spit lemonade on costar Hutch Dano: ‘They actually put a raisin as a fly in the lemonade. They said, ‘As soon as you drink it, have the raisin in your mouth and spit it out. It was so hard for me!

I would sit there and gulp the lemonade and then I accidentally coughed it out my nose. It hurt! There was lemon coming out of my nose and it was so horrible! Joey King laughed so hard that we couldn’t even shoot the scene! ..I love Hutch. He’s so amazing. It was a big deal because this was my first film and I was nervous, but it was perfect working him!’

“People Told Me I wasn’t Talented”

Added July 27th, 2010 by admin

Selena Global Grind blog: Being business-minded so young is more about being passionate with the things that you love. I mean, I’ve had people tell me that I would never have my own show that I wasn’t talented or strong enough.

And I’ve had a bunch of people criticize my music and my personal style and everything. I think it’s all about finding something you’re genuinely passionate about that you would never let anything get in the way of. That is a big part of how I became who I am because I love everything that I do. So if you have that passion it will give you the drive that you need to become unstoppable.

I’m very proud of my background and where I come from. When I was younger I thought I had to have blue eyes and blonde hair and be white to success, I know how some girls feel inside. I know they think if they want to be an actress or a singer they have to have those qualities. For me, I love not having blonde hair or blue eyes to prove that we all don’t have to look that way.

In the entire process of my album, A Year Without Rain, I wanted to be much more involved than I had been in the past. I knew exactly where I wanted to go with this album. Because my first one was more of a learning experience, the album artwork is a little older, it’s a little fun and kind of dreamy and fantasy like.

It’s got that dance feel to it and I hope everyone can listen to it. The reason I called it A Day Without Rain is because one of my favorite songs on the album is A Year Without Rain. It’s basically has a sweet melody tune to it and it’s basically a song saying you cant live without that person. A day without you is like a year without rain.

For the album, Kevin Rudolf gave me my first single, “Round and Round.” I was excited that he and Fefe Dobson gave me that song. Chelsea Dab who did ‘If I Were A Boy’ and ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ with Beyonce and Fergie gave me ‘A Year Without Rain.’ Katy Perry also gave me a song called ‘Rock God’ which has that really cool funky beat. I mixed it with my dancing style and every other artist that I’ve worked with were people that I have worked with before.

I’ve really had the chance to grow up more and I’ve written more of my stuff and I was fortunate to have all those people send me their songs so I think this is much more involved in the sense that I knew what the vision I wanted to be was and the lyrics had to mean something a little more. It was just more of a mature way to portray what I wanted to say while still maintaining youthfulness.

I’m Kind of A hopeless Romantic!

Added July 19th, 2010 by admin

Selena Gomez Boston.com interview. Selena & Joey will be at Madison Square Park from 10 AM to 6 PM, July 20. Interview pictures via Selena-Fan.Org. Selena is currently reading Sundays at Tiffany’s by James Patterson: ‘I’m kind of a hopeless romantic when it comes to reading.’

Do you ever feel pressure to take more adult roles? ‘I’m still just a kid myself. I wouldn’t do a role I don’t feel comfortable doing or that my audience wouldn’t feel comfortable seeing. No, not at all. I’m 18 years old and I play a 15 year old in this film, so I don’t feel pressure at all. I think I’m fully aware of my audience and I’m still just a kid myself. I wouldn’t do a role I don’t feel comfortable doing or that my audience wouldn’t feel comfortable seeing.’

On privacy issues: ‘Making yourself available to the right people (helps you maintain privacy). I love my fans, love the people I work with, and I want to be available. But at the same time, with personal issue and things that I’m going through, I try my best to keep that to myself.’

Joey King: Selena Gomez Is Like My Real-Life Sister … Except We Don’t Fight as Much!

Added July 16th, 2010 by Felicia

Thanks to Stephanie for sending us this interview!

momlogic’s Julie: My 6-year-old daughter is seriously counting down to July 23, the day that “Ramona and Beezus” hits theaters. Today, momlogic spoke with Joey King and teen superstar Selena Gomez about the family-friendly flick.

momlogic: Selena, you don’t have real-life siblings … how was it having Joey King as your on-screen little sister?

Selena Gomez: Joey was amazing and incredible. I learned so much from her. She is fearless!

ml: Can you tell us about your relationship with your mom?

SG: She is the coolest mom in the face of the planet — every decision I have ever made, she has been there every step of the way. I admire her and all that she has gone through. She is like my best friend.

ml: Did your mom support your decision to go into acting?

SG: My mom always supported me in anything I wanted to do. I wanted to be a teacher, then I wanted to be a meteorologist … she was 100 percent supportive. I always picked out my own clothes for auditions, and she was OK with that. She let me make my own decisions and never pushed me into anything.

Selena “QUITTING” Wowp.

Added July 14th, 2010 by admin

SELENA Gomez is set to quit her role on US TV show Wizards of Waverly Place.

The actress — who plays Alex Russo on the hit Disney Channel series — will leave the smash hit kids’ program when its fourth season ends.

“Unfortunately, I’m doing my last season of my show, which I’m really heartbroken about. That’s gonna be a terrible time for me,” Gomez, 17, told MTV.

However, Selena will reprise her role one last time for a movie adaptation of the show, which will be a sequel to the 2009 Disney hit Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie.

“I’m gonna do a movie for my show, which I’ll be excited to end it with, and then a tour,” she said.
